Paris Tourist Attractions

Spread around the popular municipal arrondissements of Paris are numerous public parks, which are visited by both the Parisians and visitors alike. In fact, there are so many of such green pockets in and around Paris that visitors can find several kinds differing in their styles from classical to modernist.

The Parc Andre Citroen is one such truly impressive modernist park in Paris that stands apart from other green spaces in the city. Located in the fifteenth arrondissement, the Parc Andre Citroen is spread across fourteen hectares of land adjacent to the Left Bank of Seine. Visiting the Parc Andre Citroen is an excellent way for visitors to relax or take a light stroll during their Paris tour. Besides, the ample space and greenery offers a perfect getaway from the bustle of the city.

The Design

The centerpiece of the Parc Andre Citroen is its design that features a modernist style. The entire space of the park is contained within a rectangular lawn divided into two by a walkway that runs diagonally to it. The design of the park adheres to four themes such as artifice, architecture, movement, and nature that separate its areas. A key attraction of the park is two greenhouse pavilions that house an excellent collection of rare plants.

The Gardens

Inside the Parc Andre Citroen are several gardens based on a different theme. For instance, there is the White Garden filled with white flowers and plants. This garden is meant for relaxing and is the only place inside the park where dogs and other pets are allowed. Opposite to this is the Black Garden that contrasts the White Garden with dark flowers and plants. It is the perfect place to relax or read a book due to its unique design meant to invoke tranquility.

Besides the two, the Changing Garden is another type that houses seasonal flowers and plants that change frequently over the year. Another garden the Les Jardins Seriels is designed in such a way to symbolize the five senses and the sixth sense using different colors and themes. The Garden of Movement is another prominent garden here, which is different from the others as it contains uninhibited plant growth, and visitors are free to roam in whichever direction they choose.
