The City of Lights has more than enough tourist attractions that are capable of attracting all the visitors. The beautiful monuments, museums, and recreational areas are all totally worth visiting, and a good experience to remember. Of the many beautiful parks in the city, the Bois de Boulogne located at the Allée Saint-Denis, 75116 Paris, is a famous and the second biggest one in the city that you could consider visiting during your Paris private tours.
The Bois de Boulogne was formerly a royal ground where the noble men did hunting. Now, this ground is the best place for some leisure, and for seeing many cultural events, and sports. With its beautiful rose gardens in the Parc de Bagatelle, the French Open tennis stadium, and lakes for a boat ride, this garden is definitely a famous spot for the tourists as well as the locals.
This park is situated in Paris’s western side, behind the Bois de Vincennes. The Bois de Boulogne is mainly divided into three parts namely; the Northern part has the Fondation Louis Vuitton and the Jardin d’Acclimatation, the center part with the Parc de Bagatelle, and the southern part with the famous Roland Garros stadium.
The Jardin d’Acclimatation was opened in 1854 by the zoologist Isidore Geoffroy Saint-Hilaire. This was formerly a zoological garden having many kinds of animals, but now it has only a few animals left. Still, this place will be quite interesting for children. Opened in 2014, the Fondation Louis Vuitton is one of the most beautiful buildings in Paris, and it houses many contemporary art exhibitions.
Head over to the Parc de Bagatelle, otherwise known as Jardins de Bagatelle, for an enjoyable walk in the middle of a forest, to have a picnic by the side of an artificial lake, or to enjoy the beautiful rose garden. During the summer, you can rent rowing boats to stroll on the lake at a cost of 10 Euros per hour. However, this facility is not open during the winter.
Jardin Shakespeare and Jardin du Pré Catelan are the other gardens located here. If you wanted to watch an amazing exhibit of exotic plants, you can go to the Jardin des Serres d’Auteuil. Hippodrome d’Auteuil and Hippodrome de Longchamp are two other buildings in this park where important horse races are hosted.
